Several years ago, I started working with someone who needed accountability. The reason for this was that his only lead generation strategy (cold calling) was something he hated doing. You see, he's a people person. He invests in relationships and wants to get to know the individual and how he can help them. At first, this seemed like a good fit for him to meet new people, but being the cause of interruptions isn't something he enjoys.
So we made some changes. First, we focused on networking and building relationships, which is his strength and something he enjoys doing. Second, we adjusted his processes to reduce the number of calls required for an opportunity.
As a result, he had more fun, less effort, and better results.
